QS. Example 1. The Goal
This example demonstrates interaction of an OPC client with the simulator of a Modbus TCP/IP device via MasterOPC Universal Modbus Server on the same PC.
MatriconOPC Explorer is used as an OPC client:
MatrikonOPC Explorer 5 can be downloaded at http://www.matrikonopc.com/downloads/176/software/index.aspx (registration is required).
According to the paragraph 4.1 of the license agreement (ExplorerEULA.pdf; stored in the installation folder), MatrikonOPC Explorer 5 can be used when testing OPC servers produced.
As a simulator of a Modbus TCP/IP device, Mod_RSSim is used; a distributive of this simulator is included into the MasterOPC Universal Modbus Server delivery kit:
