During operation, the import utility calls a device therefore a device needs to be connected to PC. In device settings, you should specify an IP address. The utility tries to read out variables from that address.
To start configure the import process, click the 'Add. Protocol Tags (Import)' command.
In the utility window displayed, click the Connect button in order to connect to the device and read out its list of variables.
If the connection is established successfully, a tree of device variables is formed.
You should select variables required (that is, set flags on the left), and click OK.
The tags are moved to the OPC server configuration. At that, groups are used to form a hierarchy that corresponds to the hierarchy of tags in the device, and the tags get necessary parameters (including dataset and report settings).
