Description

Multi-Protocol MasterOPC for Linux is a runtime system for different Linux distributions. The following distributions are currently supported:

Linux Ubuntu 20.04 LTS and its forks.

Debian 9.

A single installation file for all operating systems in the form of an archived .tar archive is available link on our site. Download ZIP archive and unpack tar archive from it to any folder, then perform installation according to further instructions.

Creating of the configuration is done in Multi-Protocol MasterOPC in Windows, then the finished configuration can be transferred to the Linux target platform. We recommend first developing the configuration in Windows, debugging it, and then transferring it to the Linux runtime system.

Limitations of the Linux version compared to the Windows version:

No OPC DA and OPC HDA - these technologies are based on DCOM, which is not cross-platform. Similarly, the OPC DA and OPC HDA client plug-ins are not supported.

The version without electronic key supports polling up to 32 tags, IEC104 server and ODBC client are not available in this version. There is no Trial version.

The main ways of interaction with OPC server clients are OPC UA and IEC104 Server - both of these modes are fully supported. Writing to various databases via ODBC connectors is also supported.

This manual will describe how to install the OPC as well as how to upload and run the configuration.
