Description

The OPC server can be installed either through the Linux graphical interface or from the terminal. The installation from the terminal is the most universal method, which is also suitable for operating systems without GUI, so in this manual we will discuss it. Installation will be done on Ubuntu, installation on other operating systems is similar.

The installation on Linux will be done with the software installed on Windows. To work you will need:

WinSCP - graphic client of the SCP protocol. Will be used to download the executive system and configurations. You can download WinSCP from the official site https://winscp.net/eng/download.php. You can also use Total Commander with the SFTP plugin).

Terminal - you can use any terminal program (Windows Terminal from Microsoft Store, Putty or Fluent Terminal). We will use Fluent Terminal.

Executive system files according to the type of operating system.

Any OPC UA client to check the connection - UA Expert, Matrikon OPC UA Explorer, Multi-Protocol MasterOPC for Windows. We will use UA Expert.

Multi-Protocol MasterOPC installed on Windows - for creating configurations (you can use the Trial version).
