In this example, we create a configuration of the OPC server that provides a connection to a real device via the Modbus RTU protocol. As a device polled, Jumo cTRON 16 is used.
The device is equipped with one universal analog input, two discrete inputs, and two relay outputs. The device instruction can be downloaded here. The Modbus RTU protocol is supported in the device for communication with an upper level. A description of the exchange protocol in the PDF format can be downloaded here.
Note. If you have no that device (or if you have no any Modbus device), read this section anyway because principles of configuration creation are the same for different devices. Descriptions of Modbus functions or registers can be different, but if you know base principles of configuration creation and fundamentals of the Modbus protocol, you easily create a configuration for your device.
