FINS is an open protocol of industrial control systems. The protocol is developed by OMRON, a Japan corporation. As an interface, FINS uses TCP/IP-based networks (such as Ethernet, Wi-Fi or GPRS) or serial communication channels (RS-232, RS-485, radio- or GSM channels). Therefore there are two modifications of the protocol: OMRON_FINS and OMRON_FINS_SERIAL. The modifications are configured almost the same way; there are only minor differences. The utility, which provides automated tag import from a file formed in the development environment Omron CX-Programmer, is available for both modifications.
The Omron Fins plugin polls Omron controllers provided with the Ethernet interface. The plugin is added using the server context menu (see The 'Add Protocol' Coammand ). The protocol is UDP-based one, therefore a node type is always Program (see Node Types ).
If a node is created, a device can be added to it.
