In addition to importing from the TIA Portal development environment, it is also possible to import from Kepware's OPC server, which allows you to export tags in CSV format.
Open the configuration in Kepware and open the context menu for the desired controller or group - and select the Export CSV...
Select the folder to save to. By default, the name of the controller or folder is suggested as the file name. This name will be used later when forming the tag tree when importing to the OPC server.
Note. It is recommended to select UTF-8 encoding for saving.
The file should have the following column structure:
Tag Name |
Address |
Data Type |
Respect Data Type |
Client Access |
Scan Rate |
Scaling |
Raw Low |
Raw High |
Scaled Low |
Scaled High |
Scaled Data Type |
Clamp Low |
Clamp High |
Eng Units |
Description |
Negate Value |
Columns must be separated by a comma. If these requirements are violated, the file will not be imported, the error window will show the number of the line where the processing error occurred.
After that, you can import tags into OPC. For this purpose, also through the context menu, the item Add - Protocol Tags (Import) is called. In the window that appears click on the Open button, in the window of file type selection select Kepware Export File (*.csv), and then select the desired file for import:
A tag tree will be generated:
The name of the imported file is used as the root node name.
DB addresses for tags are contained in the imported file, so the DB address entry field will be locked. The read DB number is displayed in the Area column.
Check the tags you need and then click the Import button - the tags will be transferred to the OPC server tree.
