To launch the server, click the shortcut Multi-Protocol MasterOPC Server\Multi-Protocol MasterOPC Server (the group Multi-Protocol MasterOPC Server is stored in that folder of the Start menu that is chosen during the product installation).
Upon this command, the server is launched in the design-time mode (see Operation Modes ), and a graphic shell of the server is displayed.
The graphic shell is a window; a title bar of that window is provided with the following standard window tools:
– minimize the window
– restore the window
– close the window (this command stops and unloads the server)
Server Auto-Launch at Client Connection
If the server is not launched (and is not registered as a service), and the first client is connecting to it, then the server is automatically launched in the run-time mode. At that, the server executes a start configuration (defined in the file ..\SERVERCFG\__startconfigmpp__).
Work folders of the server are stored in the profile of all users; that is, in Windows 7, in a folder of the kind C:\ProgramData\InSAT\Multi-Protocol MasterOPC Server\; see also description of GLOBALPROGRAMDATAFOLDER in the section The Group Constants.LUA ).
If the serve4r is launched, its icon is displayed in the taskbar notification area.
To open the server window minimized to execute the command Multi-Protocol MasterOPC Server from the icon context menu. Such an opening can be disabled by Open window from tray = False (see The Dialog of Server Parameters ).
If the server is launched by a client, it is automatically stopped and unloaded when the last client is disconnected.
If the server is registered as a service, the service is switched to the operation mode (a start configuration is executed) when the first client is connecting to. At that, a graphic shell of the server is not loaded, and the server icon is not displayed in the tray.
